Built for people going through divorce —
not lawyers who already understand it.

Most divorce financial calculators are built by attorneys for attorneys. Know Your Half was built for the person sitting in a parking lot after a hard conversation, trying to understand what their financial life looks like on the other side.

Why we built this

Going through a divorce is one of the most financially complex events in a person's life — and one of the most emotionally overwhelming. Understanding terms like "spousal support," "QDRO," "coverture fraction," and "equitable distribution" shouldn't require a law degree.

Know Your Half was created to bridge that gap. To give anyone — regardless of legal knowledge or financial background — a clear, honest, plain-English picture of what their divorce might look like financially before they walk into a lawyer's office.

Because when you understand your own numbers, you show up to that meeting prepared instead of overwhelmed. And prepared costs less.

How it works

What we use your data for

Nothing personal. All financial inputs you enter are processed entirely within your browser — we never see, store, or transmit your income figures, asset values, or any other personal information. Anonymous usage data (like which questions users reach) is collected via Google Analytics to help us improve the tool.

The formulas behind the estimates

Important: Know Your Half provides estimates for educational and informational purposes only. These calculations are not legal advice. Every divorce is different and outcomes vary significantly based on state law, judicial discretion, and individual circumstances. Always work with a licensed family law attorney for advice specific to your situation.
